Last week the biotech group work on finishing up our gel electrophoresis project. We finished the wiring and drilling for every chamber that as been built. The only thing we have to finish up is the gel carrier for one of the chambers. We plan on finishing it up this week and then we'll work on testing/ analyzing our results to ensure that all of the chambers function properly. Katie was gone a lot for robotics but the rest of us kicked it in high gear and accomplished our tasks for when she returned. She had taught us how to properly use the mill before she left so that Annalea and I could cut out remaining parts. We also had Mr. Oswald cut out the rest of the pegs that we need to add to two chambers. Hopefully, we are days away from being done with our project. With our remaining time we plan on helping out with Carissa's Girls in STEM project. I had also made a follow up contact with the principle at Bacon Elementary School.
