Last week the biotech group made a lot of progress. Katie taught Annalea and I how to solder. We practiced how to solder the wire inside the gel carrier. We had some problems with the solder at first since we weren't very comfortable but with a class period of practice we eventually got the hang of it. Reece cut out 6 gel carrier sides. 21st century skills 3b were heavily used this past week, generate, evaluate, and implement new ideas and novel approaches. We also discovered that we may not be able to finish all of the gel cambers by the end of the semester. Our goal was 12 but it may be more like 6-8 that are made successfully.
